The Montreal Rock Scene

I was reading in January about how this year America was going to be taking over by Montreal's crazy music scene... I didn't believe it at the time because I didn't see hear anything that was coming out of montreal and couldn't put a sound to it... I heard Metric and thought it was interesting, but nothing stunning.

But then I heard Stars... I'm flipping out! Most incredible album ever. But then I hear The Arcade Fire... its so good.. indescrible.

Anyone else experiencing some of Montreal's music? What are some other good bands?

laugh it up all you want, they still dominated american charts for awhile - and still are.

I heard Jacynthe was making a debut in the US (and singing songs in english), but haven't heard anything about it since. Corneille is also starting to get big in the US.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

But she sings sissy-girl rock, not real rock, like Marie-Chantale Toupin and Anny Carrier. And Jacynthe has done her share of pop songs as well. :p

She has a great voice though. I've seen her live on TV a couple times, she has a hell of a voice in front of an audience.

I'd much rather listen to someone dragging a sharp knife on a blackboard than listen to Marie-Chantale Toupin :p
