Guitar Effects

Just wondering what most peoples preferences are.

For me, although i love rock, metal, punk and the like, a clean guitar has such a richer tone and warmer feel, you can hear more depth to the notes and it can bring out a whole wider range of emotion.

Not to diss distortion, most my favourite bands use it to good effect, but its difficult to get anything other than \m/ with distortion.

On another note, its difficult to make entire songs with other effects that don't sound a whole lot different to the other two, although Faser does have a certain place in my heart.

I'm a pinch harmonic freak.. so distorted. I don't play my eletric clean cause it sounds bad. I just break out the acoustic.

I like slightly overdriven... does that count as clean? If so I need to change my vote. Put some nice treble on the sound so that every strum is percussive...... yummy.

Depends on the context.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

A dirty clean, overdriven by a Tubescreamer. Nice and punchy, and very articulate.

Tubescreamer into a Vox AC30 = ultrawin.
