last new song from me.

Ok, last new song from me before I'm off for a couple months. I'm going to Brussels to study at the Brussels Institute (EU policy) and also doing some stints at NATO and visiting various American embassies and sightseeing in Eastern Europe. So, once I get back from that in July, my band is supposed to go back into the studio and put down a couple more songs.

I just wanted to share this one with you guys because we just finished out the session and I finally got my hands on the final mixes.

The Futurists - Untitled #2

The lyrics for this song were actually posted on one of Boricua's lyrics threads a while back.

I'm torn on the intro, I didnt hear what they did to it until I got the CD.... I think it's kind of lame, I dont like the stereo effect at all. Thoughts?

DUDE!
That's even better than the first one!
I really like it, and believe me, I generally dislike this kind of music.

Keep up the good work!

Good stuff, but the vocals are a bit low.
Think while it's still legal.

Agree with the vocals being a little low, and intro is a bit cheesy.

Otherwise though really damn good, as always... Seems like you guys are developing a definite sound.

I agree. I was listening to it some more and was like "...vocals are WAY too low and the intro sucks." So, I'm gonna fix that.

Sounds professional, was that recorded in a studio? Getting a really "Killers" vibe from it though, what ever happened to the whole Coldplay sounding band?

Aside from the low vocals and intro, it's really good.

If it's the fusing of dance beats and rock on 2 (out of 8) songs makes us "The Killers" then so be it. I didnt even start liking the Killers until about a month ago because I had only heard one song by them and it was overplayed and I had never seen them perform live. Changes things.

I would say this musical direction is more true to our principle influences in U2, Radiohead, and old WAY older stuff (Edith Piaf*) and it's a lot more fun to play and easier for me to sing.... a lot of stuff.

Also..... it's a studio demo. Dont think of these songs as finished by any means, there were muchos amounts of organ/keys/violin bits that we had to leave off because of time constraints. It's supposed to reflect what we sound like live and it captures that perfectly... except for the lame intro and bad mix... gargh

SCHMING! I know you probably know that I hate newer stuff, particularly stuff like Coldplay, but you went from that to this awesome style! This song rocks man. (send it to a recording company or radio or something, get famous and rich)

Also, your singing is awesome.
