I go to a whole bunch of lyric sites all the time, I love songs and song lyrics, and meanings of songs and all of that stuff. I love dissecting music, as well as enjoying it. it's therapy and has many diff. levels.

I never pay much attention to the lyrics, unless they're insanely stupid. I'm more influenced by the instrumental aspect, the real meat of a band.

Here is a real question: Whats special about Simpleplan or Yellowcard or all those bands that sound the same? Why do people like them? I think it is because they havn't been exposed to good music ever in their lives.

They should be strapped in a chair and forced to listen to any decent classic rock radio station. At first they will hate it because it's so different, but after awhile they'll see the light.

I know its true because I've forced my friends into similar tactics, and after the listening, a day or 2 later they will come back begging for more classic rock bands and songs.

My dad was, and still is, a hippy.

So, I grew up listening to Pink Floyd, Greatful Dead, and more recently, The String Chess Incident.

So, naturally, I started listening to The Germs, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, etc etc.


Thus, I grew up listening to good music all my life.


Seriously, give any peice of classical rock/good heavy metal/good punk to anybody who listens to like Blink 182 and Yellowcard and they will come back for more.

Its less about Shakira herself and more about the words lol I feel they apply at least to me, in some way that is, to a degree
