Sadly enough, it's a cover tune.

Island in the Sun

I'll post some of the other songs when I'm done mixing them.

All comments are welcome. :)

Singer is quite good, although he needs to be much louder. Everything sounds spot on.

better than mine:(
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I'd say "thanks," but I used some pitch correction. :( I will definitely re-record the vocals properly when I have the time though. :)

Hihat's a tad strong sometimes; perfect for the mix, but not really balanced with the rest of the kit.

Near the beginning, something with the clean guitar sounds like a tiny bit out of tune, like maybe a string was being pressed to hard or bent slightly, which I tend to do at times also. Although I doubt most people would notice it. My ears are just really sensitive lately. *shrug*

So maybe nermind. :o
(I'm always yelling at someone in my own band about tuning, too.)

But overall, very nice.

Yeah, I think I may have pressed too hard on a string at one point in the intro, I noticed that too. Later on though, I don't notice it, so I don't think the guitar was out of tune. Maybe. :o

What do you mean by the hi-hat not being balanced with the kit? Just in volume, or it doesn't sound right? Is there a part in particular that's worse?

It's the volume. It seems louder in the soft parts, then in the loud parts, it can't be heard (unless your drummer was using a ride at that point, which I can't tell at all).

In the distorted chorus part, the drummer was crashing on a ride cymbal, IIRC.

Yeah, I noticed it now. It could probably come up just a touch, too. But back to the hihat - if I were to guess, the snare was mic'ed from the top. So try mic'ing it from the bottom. That way, the snare mic doesn't pic up so much of the hihat. Also, recording drums in stereo can help bring out some of the quieter things without overpowering the rest of the mix. Although certain song styles don't work with stereo drums.
Just make sure you don't accidentally pan the snare left. :o

These are just some trivial technical things I wouldn't worry all too much about.

Ummm... the drum was recorded in stereo. Two pencil consensors in a XY array, about a foot over the cymbals pointed downward, with about 120 degrees between the two. Each one was panned about 75% left and right. A 58 on the snare, and a 58 on the kick drum. The drummer plays his hi-hat pretty far from the snare (not like some who play with the hi-hat on top of the snare), so it doesn't bleed as much. So little, I could probably cut most of the hi-hat out of the snare track with EQ.

I've heard that you should always mic both top and bottom, and use whichever's best, but I don't have the mics to try it. Next time I'll try micing the bottom for fun. Thanks, Brandon.

Hmm... I can't really tell. Although I wasn't really paying attention.
