Very true, I'm amazed you remembered.

If you're after a metal sound, then consider the Peavey 5150 MkII. "Designed" by Eddie Van Halen, and a few decent metal bands use it, the most notable being Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad (and many solo albums). A few metal bands in Australia use them as well like Frankenbok, Walk the Earth and even punk bands like Frenzal Rhomb (you probably have no idea who they are).

Anyway, my band and I don't really do the whole metal thing any more, it's more heavy alternative/hyper rock. You can listen to a song of ours using a 5150, so it's quite versatile.

Check it out

Nice Chuckles.. sounds good!

I found this peavey... it doesn't appear to be a mkII but it seems to be a decent deal..

It's definetly not a Mk II. The main difference is a switchable clean to crunch channel as well as a lead channel. The original 5150 (that one you're looking at on ebay) only has a clean channel and a lead channel (lead meaning the cranking distortion). The overall quality and sound of the lead channel is virtually the same between the two models, or so I've heard.

But I do suggest you actually play through one and tweak the knobs before committing to buy one. You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it.

Oh, and glad you like the tunes.
