Pixies came to the Newport Folk Fest yesterday, played their first all acoustic set ever. Started out slow, but got a lot better, a great show in the end. Kim wasn't as good as she was when I saw them in Lowell last year, especially for "Gigantic", I didn't think they were used to not playing with huge loud stacks behind them :P.
Can't wait for the new DVD either, has a lot of footage from the show I was at ( which was fantastic, really right on). Glad to say I've seen them twice, never thought I'd even see them once two years ago!

Anyone else see them since they've started touring again? or have any general comments ( praises! ) for the Pixies?

I saw the Pixies on October 8th, 2004 in Tampa. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been too and concreted them as one of my favorite bands. I'm pretty excited about the possibility of a new album. Here's to hoping it’s as awesome as the old material.

I was at Lollapalooza. I've never rocked harder, but I have to say i've never been more captivated than when I saw Billy Idol and The Arcade Fire.

Still, at Lollapalooza the Pixies rocked the socks right off of Weezer.
