Sonata Arctica - Melodic Metal, most songs have hooks that cause you to put them on repeat all day, they don't actually have any songs that aren't awesome but these are the ones which usually win people over:
- The Cage
- Fullmoon
- My Land
- Don't Say A Word

DragonForce - Crazy fast cheesy power melodic awesome metal, they also don't have any songs that aren't awesome, but here are the popular ones:
- Dawn Over A New World
- Valley of the Damned
- Heart of a Dragon
- Black Winter Night
- Starfire
- Fury of the Storm
- Soldiers of the Wasteland

Other bands:

Nightwish - Symphonic/Operatic Metal
Epica - Like Nightwish
At Vance - Melodic metal, don't do anything new or clever but they just put out good solid songs
Stratovarius - the band that made Nightwish and Sonata Arctica possible
Edguy - German Rock/Metal, do good ballads.

MW takes time for it to really grow on you ( at least for me, I never found Mannish Boy too interesting at first, apart from it's influence on rock ). If you want blues, grab some Sonny Boy Williamson, straight out best harp player that ever got somewhat famous. If you want something more emotional and really blues, pick up Son House, I've never seen anyone play with that much emotion.

Just to add on that list, off the live album Salival, both Push it (without a space, it gets censored) , and Third Eye are fantastic. That album really turned me on Tool.

Primus:
Jerry Was A Racecar Driver
Groundhogs Day
Harold on the Rocks
Too Many Puppies
Tommy the Cat
My Name is Mud
Southbound Pachyderm

Col. Claypool's Frog Brigade:
Anything, just see whawt you can find, it's all gold.

Col. Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains ( Buckethead, Bernie Worell, Les Claypool, Brain Mantia = Best band ever concieved :P)

Anything, like above, but my favorites have always been "Buckethead" and "Elephant Ghost"

Yes! Although CCBoBB seems to be too "out there" for most people that aren't Les Claypool/Primus fans. And if you're wanting to get into Primus, I'd highly suggest buying Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People, which is a DVD/CD combo that has all their music videos and a few new songs, as well as a crapload of other stuff, like bootleg concert videos.

The Beatles- anything

The Replacements- A band from Minneapolis in the 80's. One of my favorites. It's a little hard to describe them- basically they could be hard and sloppy, and also write great poppy songs. Songs:
I Will Dare- one of their poppiest songs. Peter Buck guests here and plays a great guitar solo
Androgynous- A great piano ballad.
Black Diamond- I don't like KISS, but this is a great cover of one of their songs.
Unsatisfied- This song is just great.
Answering Machine

They got a ton more great songs, those are just my favorites from one album.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love
