I have a very limited knowledge of music in general, and someone will probably shout at me for missing someone major, but I was curious if anyone still listened to or liked any of these bands.
Also, why is it that the Brits seem to have (maybe had) such a major part of the music industry in the 60's - 80's era. Considering how much smaller it is than the U.S., it just seems to have had a lot of great bands come out of it, or at least during that time. Maybe, well-known is a better word.
Don't get me wrong, the U.S. has awesome bands, but it just seems like the U.K. seemed to dominate this era. Does anyone else know what I mean or care to agree/disagree?
Another thought which ocurred to me is that the U.S. might be better known for indivdual artists/singers whereas the U.K. was maybe better known for its groups?
Please discuss.
