...my guitar into to computer? What I mean is, are there any "free" programs I can download to play my guitar via pc? Any help here would be hot....:D

if you plug the guitar into the computer, tweak the soundcard settings and all that, you'll be able to hear the guitar without any software (although its good to run it through your amp first).

recording it requires some half decent software though, i've got Cool Edit Pro.

although i'm sure my sound card drivers came with recording software, then the disk smashed and when i redownloaded the software, the recorder was absent. :(

You might try this for amp simulation. I have no idea what it can do, I just found it on google. :o

You can try searching for free amp simulators (or plug-ins). Most plug-ins are DirectX, I think. At least, most of what I use. Although I lost most of what I use the last time my computer crashed, and I don't remember what I had.
