Wolfmother are an Australian 3-piece who have taken my country by storm and probably will yours. Their guitar riffs are so catchy they could go fishing. If you like good guitar-driven rock you should like them. If you're a fan of Zeppelin or Sabbath you should love them.

To quote the Editorial Review from Amazon.com:

Quote:
The long awaited, highly anticipated debut album by the Sydneysiders. 12 tracks of glorious rock symphony, reminding of the likes of T-Rex, The Beatles, Cream and so many more of your favourite bands. It's like Sabbath and Zeppelin were cryogenically frozen but took a knowledge pill and were thawed in 2005. It's like Kyuss but all slowed down and ****ed up and with odd but somehow right time changes and bold as chord shifts. But it's different. It's no throwback or pastiche or parody, but sounds fresh and exciting, a celebration of love for the music. It's Wolfmother a 3-piece rock'n'roll wet dream from the abyss that are going to make you peer inside your brain and howl at the moon. From Dimension's military, thundering drums, roaring axe intro and stunning melody, to Woman's showcase of vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale's shivery holler, right through to the chugging riffs and sludgy breakdown of Apple Tree and the freaked out psyche of The White Unicorn, the Sydney trio bring not only the noise, they also bring the nous. 2005.

Minds Eye is their best song IMO, it's a big anthemic rock ballad complete with epic choruses and synthesizer solo.

I also recommend you check out Joker & the Theif on that second site. Other recomendations would be Apple Tree (very White Stripes-esque) and White Unicorn (very trippy).

Dammit I thought I posted this because I confused our names and I was panicking thinking I lived in another country.

But artistic titties on the entrance page is a +.

That's pretty good.

What Mr. Stafford?

Anyways, as for Wolfmother; am I the only one who finds them extremely annoying? It's like they're trying to recreate classic rock or something. Just my oppinion.

Re-creating classic rock is what we're in need of. We've been letting the kiddies run it into the ground for far too long.

The Darkness is excellent classic hard-rock. Well recorded, too. Probably because they're British and aren't a part of the idiotic American loudness wars.
