Cool Music

I need cool instrumentalm orchestra music for a full length movie I'm making. I need something like Star Wars or Halo music, and it should be not very well known. Just post links, I'll download them myself. Also, don't post Timesplitters music. I've got that. Thanks.

The Planets by Gustav Holst isn't exactly the best kept secret around, but it's not as well known to the masses as the Star Wars music, yet is very similar in many respects.

In addition to the Planets, you might want to look into the "Concerto for Orchestra" by Bela Bartok. Parts of it sound a lot like the music to Star Wars. (I'd guess John Williams 'borrowed' many of his ideas from it.)

It really depends on what scenes you want the music for. If you want really dissonant, ominous/frightening music, Krzysztof Penderecki and Gyorgy Ligeti are good composers to look up. Oh... another good composer is Tchaikovsky. Between "Romeo and Juliet", "Francesca da Rimini", and his 4th-6th symphonies, you can find basically anything you need. (Then again it might take some time to listen through all of them to find what specifically you're looking for...)

Can't really help you outside of the classical repertoire.

Ah, my favorite: Sheherazad (sp?) by Rimsky Korsakov. SImply stunningly gorgeous. ;)
