You may or may not heard of Remixfight!, which is a sister site of Songfight!, the website that brought us MC Frontalot and possibly KOMPRESSOR. Anyway, the premise of Remixfight! is that they select a song to be remixed, and the loops and instrumental & vocal tracks are posted on the site. You then have two weeks to create a remix of the song. When you've finished the remix, you email it to them as per the instructions. Then they post the entries when the deadline is up and people vote to determine the best remix.

Why am I telling you this? Because the song being remixed these next two weeks is a Massassi creation, more or less written and programmed by Me, and with a jam-out-kicking guitar performance by our very own Shintock. And I am of the opinion that all of you who are into this sort of thing should get remixing and submit your creations. Show 'em what massassi is all about.

Loops and song resources here

I know this could go in the music forum but it will get more replies this way and I am FIGHTING THE POWER

Do we have any rules as to how we can use the sources? Or can they be modified in any way?

Also, are we allowed to use more samples than those provided, or only those samples?

I don't care either way, I just want to know how I need to do it :D

You can use/modify the sources all you want, as well as add more samples and instruments. I know a guy who's been recording himself playing guitar for most of the remixes he submitted.

Basically as long as it's recognizable as a remix and there's no really blatant copyright violation you can do whatever you want. :)
