Wow. She's got an awesome voice, probably one of the best renditions I've ever heard.

No. The harmonics in that are horrifying. Her voice doesn't work for that song at all.

Way too robotic, she doesn't slur her words at all, like it's meant to be sung. She sucks, at this song atleast.
2006-03-26, 8:14 PM #4
Yeah, the more I listen to, I realize that the original wasn't meant to be SANG. At least not well. It was meant to be ackward and 'whiney' sounding. Slurred, like Ty said.

[The second half is a lot better. I like when she sings deep]

True, but seems to me know one can make a decent one besides Queen. It's amazing that anyone can even sing the song. While you may not like the rendition, she does a pretty good job hitting those notes.

Anyone notice YouTube is lagging like crazy?

Uh, I can sing Bohemian Rhapsody.

And as for her not slurring, that's probably because her native language is Japanese.

For the love of cake send it to the music forum so I won't be tempted to hear someone ripping apart my beloved Freddie's masterpiece!

Yea no crap. Queen rocks, no one can sing their stuff but them.

But I guess that's kinda hard, Freddie being dead and all.
2006-03-26, 9:43 PM #15
Paul Rodgers does a fine job at the moment, and I've heard some AWESOME tributes.

But in the general case, yes, Queen should be left well alone
2006-03-26, 10:15 PM #16
Elton John did pretty well at the Freddy Mercury tribute concert years ago.

I think the back up singers ruin it more than anything else. She also has a bit of an accent that makes it a little odd.

Ah, I should have realized by the name. I assumed it was Japan because of FF8.

And no, I won't sing it because I don't have a mic and I might be lying anyway.

I agree. But regardless, this should not be one of the best renditions ANYONE has heard.

She didn't do a half bad job, I think... And her band did quite well.. But the choir sucked bad.

Actually her choir was pretty horrible. She was good though.

I didn't quite like that video, but thankyou for reminding me how much I like her voice.
2006-03-27, 6:37 AM #25
Yeah, the other singers were terrible, but she did alright. She shouldn't have done that song though :p

In any case, I demand Vinny bohemian rhapsody-age now.

Faye Wong sang fine, it was the choice of song and the god forsaken god aweful god disgusting god its so bad that I want to scream choir that hurts the ears.

Note : I'm not saying the song is bad, but no one but Queen could sing it well.

The choir sounded off-key, but Faye sounded funky.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I think I'm probably one of the few people who don't really like Queen. Having said that, I've only really heard the few tracks which get played non stop everywhere... "Don't stop me now.. I'm having such a good time"

That one especially makes me sick.

It wasn't bad, especially not ear-bleedingly bad, but the real problem is: Why is a chinese girl that most people have never heard of (with an accent that detracts from the songs value!!) covering one of the best songs ever made in human history?

There are actually quite a few people that can sing as well as Freddie Mercury. Technically speaking, in terms of range and whatnot. None of them sound LIKE him, however.
