Oh wait, I lied

I've been growing weary of the multitude of mediocre video game songs remixed with glockenspiels and accordions and God knows what other awful combinations of instruments. Fueled by my contempt for this raping of music and general unoriginality, I have attempted to create some songs that take inspiration from various games and uploaded them to Soundclick, land of terrible remixes: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=506997

Untitled and Incomplete: I made this one in like 10 minutes and forgot to save it, making it a finished product whether I like it or not

Bealuspell: inspired by Castlevania, and the only song I am more or less satisfied with aside from its crappy instrumentation and general sloppiness

Noctivigant: also inspired by Castlevania. I'll probably extend it and improve the drums (I ain't no drummer unfortunately)

Finally, I made another one that's inspired by Metroid, but I can't upload it right now (i.e., my laziness/tiredness is preventing me)

Anyway, I give you permission to post on this thread. If you want

I enjoyed Bealuspell, totally reminded me of Castlevania. Which is what you intended, so that's good. You should upload more stuff if you have the time!

Fruityloops is pretty hard at first, but once you get the hang of it there's pretty much no limit to what you can create. ;)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/icons/icon12.gif]

FL can be a real pain at times (like the fact you have to pay for the Soundfont plugin), but I gotta admit it's probably the most versatile program for being able to compose and have something presentable when you're finished.

So, more comments? I'm interested if anyone has suggestions for instruments/synths that would sound better. Or if you want, you can even use your music snobbery skills to tear apart my work.

Can someone direct me to a forum where people actually post? Thanks.

Um, you have to pay for the whole program... :p

The regular showcase forum let's you post sounds and stuff, so I'd try there if I were you. I've posted my soundclick on this music forum before and hardly anyone replies. :(

...yeah, and as if that wasn't expensive enough, you have to pay for Wasp, Wasp XT, SimSynth, DrumSynth Live, and the Soundfont plugin. See what I'm getting at?

Delph: That's a good idea, I'll see how it fares on the showcase forum after I make some more music.
