so i finally got everything working in my very own bedroom studio and i figured i should have some fun. so here's an over the top dramatic solo in f# minor i improvised over synth drums bass and piano.

Godin Exit 22
Fender Princeton 112
Apex APA-126 for close miccing and apex 435 for room effect. it's not half bad, but it needs work.

f# minor DRAMA

THANKS TO MB FOR HOSTING.

That's totally *****in', dude. How long have you played the guitar?

I'd elaborate on the drums a little, but otherwise, that solo is freakin tight. I found myself grinning when you broke out into that arpeggio stuff. Rock on. ;)

it'll be 5 years in september, but i love playing so i play all the time. and it's not meant to be really a song. i was just trying out this synth drum i built in fruity with nskit to see how it sounded.

Nice, though that bend at the start makes me unhappy.

I don't remember your picking being as clean as it is now, it sounds awesome.

well. the wonders of alternate picking. to be honest it's funny, but i haven't practiced sweeping in maybe 2 months. and yet it seems to be better than before. i guess alternate has made my right hand stronger. woohoo.

and it's really just for fun. and the big bends help the DRAMA emphasis :o

thanks everyone though :D

Drum-Bedroom-Take-1

this is a drum take played by one of my pals to test out our new drum mics. all apex 126 on two toms and the snare. apex 125 on the overhead. and a 435 condenser as overhead and cymbal and some room reverb. it sounds nice. did some mastering with stock sonar 5 effects (can't afford more plugins yet) with some panning and i think this has potentential for a bedroom take. i wonder if anyone who knows his stuff could give me some cues on this!

Well really I have a feeling of both, it makes me feel like I suck, and at the same time, motivates me to keep taking lessons, so I can learn how to do that

Drum clip doesn't seem to work for me. The guitar clip is ****ing unreal dude, I'm always amazed whenver you post stuff. ROCK ON MOTHA****A \m/

Catch me on MSN sometime, and send me that drum clip. I just finished my course on mastering, I might be able to share some tips with you. I know of a couple things I was really happy to learn. It totally changed the way I look at the mix stage, before I even get to mastering.

And nothing's wrong with the stock plugins in Sonar 5. The Sonitus plugs sound much better than the standard plugins that Pro Tools has to offer. The compressor is actually pretty good, and so it the multi-band as well (very useful mastering tool).
