A Friend's Band

A friend of mine has started a Christian band with a few other people. He has a website up with a few song tracks on there, and I was wondering if anyone hear wanted to give their opinion on their sound, their website, etc.

I realize they're Christian, but please try and keep any negative remarks away. Comment on the technicality and quality of their site and their sound, not their religion please! :)

They also have a MySpace:

(personally, I think the site looks quite nice, but I think it should probably move away from frames and use CSS)

RAAHHH KILL THE CHRISTIANS

Um, also, the vocals aren't compressed properly I think. Most of the time they're too loud. The instrumental side is pretty neat though.

Their first influence listed is Creed... EWWWWWWWW!

And ya, the vox needs to be compressed and have that awful reverb taken off of it... It would probably help A LOT also if the guy didn't try to sound like Scott Stapp... mainly because EVERYONE hates Creed and if you don't, then you should.

John Lennon was one of those people who could successfully hide his voice behind effects. Even though he had a nice voice, he hated the sound of it.

Sounds like this singer is trying to do the same. He shouldn't. Uck. I mean, he isn't too terribly bad, but the reverb makes him worse, IMO, and definitely doesn't fit with the tighter drums and relatively dry guitar. It almost sounds like they just sent the vox through a reverb unit and did nothing else to it.

They're not too bad though. But yeah, he needs to find his own voice, there is already a Scott Stapp and nobody likes him.
Epstein didn't kill himself.

same as said before about the vocals, except that the backing vocals could do with a beefing up too, the backing sounds like a dry fart in the wind.

some of the riffs are pretty cool though.

Okay, the parts of the songs where he doesn't obviously try to sound like Scott Stapp are the parts he sounds the best, IMO. Pretty good though, I like the "Forgive" demo.
