Testing some tones

I've been fiddling around with my GT8, trying to get some good tones and i've finally found a couple i'm happy with. So I plugged the output of my GT8 into the microphone socket on my motherboard and recorded some samples

Clean, Humbucker, Bridge Pickup: http://etc.andrewingram.net/tabs/tonetest_clean.ogg
Clean, Single Coil, Middle Pickup: http://etc.andrewingram.net/tabs/tonetest_clean2.ogg
Lead/Distorted, Humbucker, Bridge Pickup:
http://etc.andrewingram.net/tabs/tonetest_lead.ogg

They're only short samples, not intending to show of any skills or anything, tell me what you think.

Because some people apparantly don't like .ogg files.

i like it. the second clean sounds exquisite. single coils are awesome for clean.

your lead tone is nice. needs a little less gain i think. and needs to be livelier. as i told you, vibrato is your friend.

I don't like either clean tone... I'm not a fan of thick chorusy tones though. The lead tone doesn't sound bad though.

They all sound too effected to me. I think the middle p-up clean has the most potential. Lead sound isn't too bad, but maybe less reverb on it might help.

Well, they are supposed to be my effect tones. The clean tone of my guitar sounds sexalicous enough anyway:

I was going for a clean tone with lots of ambience.

REPLICA!!! !!! !!!
Anyhow, what the hell is an ogg file and good thing winamp knew what to do with it.

I like the second clean one and the lead sounds nice. The second clean one needs to be a little bit beefier though, sounds kinda stringy.

AFAIK, OGG is a container file for the Vorbis codec, same way AVI is a container for DivX, xvid, etc...
