I've got a couple mix tapes for my car, figure I'd share them with you all. And yes, these are mostly songs I sing to at the top of my lungs in the car:

MIX TAPE 1
Side 1
Heaven On Their Minds - Jesus Christ Superstar
Everything You Want - Vertical Horizon
Sister Golden Hair - America
Only In Your Heart - America
Freshmen - The Verve Pipe
Phantom of the Opera - The Phantom of the Opera
Bleed - Cold

Side 2
Gesthemene - Jesus Christ Superstar
All I Ask Of You - The Phantom of the Opera
Elephent Love Medley - Moulin Rouge
Your Song - Moulin Rouge
Come What May - Moulin Rouge
The Neverending Story theme - The Neverending Story movie
Darkness - Disturbed

MIX TAPE 2
Side 1
Jack's Lament - The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Last Unicorn - America (from "The Last Unicorn" movie)
Bring Me to Life - Evanescence
The Impossible Dream - Man of La Mancha
The Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkle
Bookends - Simon and Garfunkle
Whatever You Became - Cold
Cure My Tragedy - Cold
Losing My Religion - R.E.M.
King of Wishful Thinking - Go West
Pardon Me (acoustic version) - Incubus
Colorblind - Counting Crows
Gollum's Song - from The Lord of the Rings movies

Side 2
What's This? - The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Schmuel Song - The Last Five Years
A Whole New World - Disney's Aladdin
Faith of the Heart - theme for Enterprise
Dulcinea - Man of La Mancha
No One - Cold
Rain Song - Cold
Hello - Evanescence
Yesterday - The Beatles
I am a Rock - Simon and Garfunkle
Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkle
Into the West - from The Lord of the Rings movies

The first mix tape I made back in December and have listened/sung to it a bajillion times, so I finally got around to making a new one. I can sing most everything on the first mix (though parts of "Come What May" have note changes I can't quite seem to do). I'm thinking of making a new version of the tape because I now have tapes that can hold more music on it, and my current mix tape is degrading at the beginning of "Gesthemene" which makes me sad. I need access to some songs I don't have handy though before I can do that.

The second mix tape, as you may have figured out, consists of a lot more depressing songs. I have a low voice -- I can't sing a lot of happier songs, though I'll admit I like to get all emotional and into my singing, so... yeah. The Cold songs on side 1 actually give me the most trouble strangely enough, though Bring Me To Life ain't easy either. I have no idea why broadway songs seem easier at times than radio songs... It'll take me some time to learn the words well enough for all these songs to sing them anywhere near decent, but fortunately I'm the type that doesn't have a problem listening to a song I like a bajillion times. That's good, because I NEED to listen to a song a bajillion times to sing it well enough.

ANYWAY....

Post any music mixes you've made!

I haven't done mixtapes really after 1998 or so when they were full of eurodance/eurotrash which were totally popular around here throughout the 1990's.

Unless I count my Jarre compilations from 2003 >_>
Star Wars: TODOA | DXN - Deus Ex: Nihilum

Haha, cool.

I often compile some CD's for friends when there's a birthday or something. I always give the compilation a title as well. (As if it's some kind of recipe, hehe) Here's one I recently made for a girlfriend who's really into noise rock. (And yeah, some bands aren't on there because she already knew those)

Big, Perverted Engine

01. Shellac - Wingwalker
02. Unwound - Corpse Pose
03. Slint - Charlotte
04. Blonde Redhead - Suimasen
05. Shipping News - Books on Trains
06. Shellac - The Billiard Player Song
07. The Jesus Lizard - Gladiator
08. June of 44 - Does your heart beat slower
09. Slint - Nosferatu Man
10. Shellac - Doris
11. Blonde Redhead - Water
12. The Jesus Lizard - Monkey Trick
13. Don Caballero - Unresolved Kharma
14. Shipping News - (Morays or) Demon
15. Blonde Redhead - Futurism vs. Passéism Part 2
16. Unwound - Abstraktions
17. Mogwai - New Paths to Helicon Part 1 (Live)

Here's another one I made, it's a pretty mellow compilation of post-rockish music.

Seventeen Secrets

01. Dianogah - Wrapping the Lamb, Sir
02. Tortoise - Ten-day Interval
03. American Analog Set - Choir Vandals
04. Explosions in the Sky - A song for our Fathers
05. The For Carnation - A Tribute To
06. Ativin - End of Tape
07. Tristeza - Golden Hill
08. Pullman - Deer Hill
09. Shipping News - Louven
10. Dianogah - At the Mercy of the Mustang
11. Aerial M - AASS
12. Mogwai - Tracy
13. Karate - This, plus slow song
14. Pullman - Two Parts Water
15. John McEntire - Reach the Rock Main Title
16. Tristeza - Macrame
17. The For Carnation - Tales (Live from the Crypt)

I've made loads and loads more - punk rock compilations, summer mixes (singalongs), you name it, but I can't find them right now. I usually make at least one mix whenever I go on vacation, so I've got a pretty decent collection of compilations.

Another thing I used to do, wayyyyyyyyy back in the day, is making compilations for use with GTA 1. GTA 1 plays a certain track from the cd for everything you do. So I figured out which tracks it was playing in which car, for walking around, when the game is paused, etc. Then I compiled several cd's of awesome chase music from 70's movies, famous TV tunes, and all kinds of other 'gangster type music'. Awesome fun, racing around to Dirty Harry and the Beastie Boys - Sabotage, to name but a couple. In total, I made 7 compilations for GTA, haha. :v:

Kate Monster:
Princeton.

He likes me.
I think he likes me.
Does does he 'like me' like me,
Like I like him?
Will we be friends,
Or something more?
I think he's interested,
But I'm not sure.

Come in!

Princeton:
Hiya, Kate!

Kate Monster:
Princeton! Hi!

Princeton:
Hi! Listen, I was going through my CDs
yesterday, and I kept coming across songs

To give you a clue.

Kate Monster:

I was just looking at side A. Great songs!

Princeton:
Oh, well, did you get to side B yet?

Kate Monster:

Kate Monster:
Yeah?

Princeton:
Right here...

Kate Monster:

Princeton:
Oh, there's one more...

"I Have To Say I Love You In A Song"

Kate Monster:
Princeton, that's so sweet!
I've never gotten such a nice present from a guy.

Princeton:
Awww. Well, I'm glad you like it.
But, I have to go now. I'm gonna make one
for Brian and Christmas Eve and Gary and
Nicky and Rod and Trekkie Monster and everyone!

Kate Monster:
Oh.
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

Asrai... the (original?) guitarist was a classmate of mine. He doesn't play in the band anymore though, I think. Do they even still exist? Oh well, it's not really my kind of music. Although I must admit I used to go to the 'Inrichting' parties at the old entrepotdok (kalenderpanden) in Amsterdam, to dance to hardcore industrial. :ninja:

Ever been there?

Been there a few times, yeah.Used to be fun, until the whole drugs-wave hit it.

Asrai itself has had a fair amount of changes, especially considering guitarists. I quite like their music to, great for late at night.

Cool. We might've met eachother without knowing it. After all, it was a pretty exclusive crowd. Always the same faces wherever you went, haha.
