Band suggestions

Hey guys, I'm wanting to get into some new artists, and I don't know where to start. I'm looking for your suggestions. I'm looking for metal (non-progressive), with catchy riffs and a crunchy sound. Some of my favorite bands are:

System of a Down
Disturbed
Pantera
P.O.D
Nirvana
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Led Zeppelin
Neil Young
A Perfect Circle
Wolfmother
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Tenacious D

If you have any suggestions that'd be great!

Tool. Lateralus.

Or Aenima. That might be easier to get into.

Just an FYI.

Was the gross no to me? You suck.

But Anovis is right, you should check out Failure.

Actually I was thinking about ripping the video for Stuck on You, so maybe I'll do that now.

Alice in Chains
Screaming Trees

Will Haven
At The Drive-In

I bought their album Alaska at Ozzfest, and they are really good. I can see them being Main Stage in a few years. I'm not a big hardcore fan, but they mix hardcore music with a kind of 80's hair/speed metal and it sounds great. Each of their songs has a real unique sound to it.
Think while it's still legal.

In a few years? They should be there now honestly :p

Also:

Thrice
From Autumn to Ashes
Glassjaw

And if you like Wolfmother check out the Black Keys, you might like them

Trail of dead sure isn't either. :psyduck:

Neither is Nirvana or Tom Petty or half the bands he listed.
2006-08-09, 5:18 PM #20
if you're a ***, then half the bands are crunchy, if you arent, then the bands are "misc important".

If Red Hot Chili Peppers is on the list, I'd say Creed.
AC/DC
Metallica
Jethro Tull
Linkin Park
3 Doors Down

Thats all I can think of that'd be good beats w/ crunchy music.
Other rock/metal that I'd suggest:
Guns 'n' Roses
Aerosmith
Green Day
Also look into some songs by this Japanese Anime music creator, Yoko Kanno, specifically Run Rabbit Junk as part of Ghost in the Shell SAC. :ninja:
Major projects working on:
SATNRT, JK Pistol Mod, Aliens TC, Firearms

Completed
Judgement Day (HLP), My level pack

Adagio
Anonymus
Dark Tranquility
Iced Earth
Immortal
Judas Priest
Nevermore

something like that

May not be exactly what you're looking for, but you'd probably like the Smashing Pumpkins. Especially Siamese Dreams.
