Hey guys, I was just wondering... what do I need to record guitar onto my computer? Like... what do I all need? I'll want distortion, etc... like.. what do you guys use?

The Line6 Toneport is perfect and cheap for someone who wants to record guitar at home without the hassle of micing an amp. All the sounds on the Toneport are taken from the PodXT, and you have the option of adding more amp sounds as well.

The Toneport works as a sound interface as well, probably better quality than the sound card you have in your computer right now.

This is the stuff I use at home.

i plug the guitar into the amp, then the amp into the pc with a littlearizer.

Yeah, for affordable recording for demos, I use both the Line 6 Guitar Port for my guitar parts, and than Line 6's Tone Port for bass and vocals.

I use my headphones as a microphone!
