What's your favorite song right now?

What is it? And give your reason why! Don't be afraid to delve into detail.

My favorite song would have to be Hexagram by Deftones. It has so much meaning...
it's about suicide bombers. It's really got a powerful message.

Soldier Side - System of a Down

Everytime I hear the song I feel a shiver down my spine. The message of the song, the lyrics, the music. All of it just fits together perfect.
Think while it's still legal.

Either Elliott Smith - Kings Crossing or Pink Floyd - Sheep.

Both have been on repeat pretty much constantly.
The tired anthem of a loser and a hypocrite.

Right now? Tool - Ænema. I don't know why.
2006-08-14, 2:31 PM #6
Right now would be Muse - Map of the Problematique, although ask me tomorrow and it could be any track from Black Holes and Revelations.

I like it cos it sounds great and helps me get through certain parts of my day at work.

Hilf mir - Rammstein

Something about the style changes as the story of a child igniting themself while playing with matches unfolds is poetic.

"Too Many Fiestas for Reuben" - Modest Mouse

The simple acoustics mixed with a trashy midwestern accent makes me feel at home.

"60 Revolutions" - Gogol Bordello

So much energy, so much awesome. The gypsy instrumentation combined with the real punk rock energy. Also, it's got fun lyrics and is great to sing along with (especially if you do the accent).

The Beatles - Octopus's Garden

Such a happy song, all who oppose it are cynical bastards who hate the world.

I change my "Favorite Song" about once a week, my tastes move from one thing to another, then back to the first, then maybe a third thing.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Sonata Arctica - Shamandalie

Iron Maiden - Wasted Years

It really spoke to me the first time I heard it, and the message still resonates. Sure it's just some song, but sometimes it's takes something fairly insignificant to remind you of those little things that are more important than they seem.

So yeah, it's 1:46 AM. I should probably stop talking. Hopefully I don't sound completely foolish.

Edit- and to comment... I've got to listen to some more of this stuff- fear not, for I shall. But for now:

Victor: Provided that I'm thinking of the same song- I agree. Shivers indeed.
Detty: That is about the craziest thing I have ever heard. Surreal! (And what's with the montage in the middle? Swear I've heard a bunch of those tunes before in all kinds of places.)
DJ Yoshi: Hell yes. Rock on, brother. Rock on.
Gothic X: Sonata Arctica definitely knows how to put them together, and good god, can their hearts bleed. (Ow! My happiness!)

It's probably Rufus Wainwright's Cigarrettes and Chocolate Milk. The lyrics are cool, and the melody wanders pretty much all over Rufus' range, which happens to match mine, so I love singing along.

Yeah. It took a couple of listens to really get into it, but now it's probably one of my favorite.
