New Turntable!
2006-08-31, 8:26 PM #1
I just got a great deal on a used turntable by Numark. The guys at the store originally brought out several crappy turntables from the rejects bin, and then emerged with this, in great condition and with far more features than I had expected.

I have a variety of classic rock records, so I just wanted a very simple record plays. But now that I have something that scratches and reverses and changes pitch, I figured I'd get a New Order remix record and Depeche Mode. This, in turn, has gotten me in the mood to get a lot of electronic/dance/house, maybe even hip hop records. We're probably going to get a second player for the room and mixer.

But - we don't know where to start. I don't know what's "good" electronic or house type music to look for, so hopefully Massassi will come to the rescue! Any suggestions as to some cool party music, preferably of European origin?

Get those Italo Disco records and you'll blow your necks.

Of course there's also the Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream options for neat old-school electronic music.

Come on, Numbarz! I'd think you, of all people, may have some more ideas for good music for this. :D

Hmm, try the Ninja Tune label then, like The Herbaliser and Hexstatic and Coldcut. And Amon Tobin. It's electronic music meets hip hop meets jazz meets british people. Yay :0
