Music albums of rawness

Firstly its been a while since ive posted and nice to be back and I have new name Axecrasher :) Now on to the discussion.

I have found over the years, that some albums are great as they are the first albums by a particular band. Some examples include 'Gish' by The Samshing Pumpkins, 'Slow, Deep and Hard' by Type O Negative and 'Ignition' by The Offspring. I like all these albums as they are really new and raw in their approch and sound great muscially. Perhaps is the fact that recording is not fully perfect and adds a bit to the sound. Of course it does have to apply to first albums it could apply to any albums (i.e. Regin In Blood by Slayer) it adds so much to the sound.

What music albums would you think that sound raw?

Andralls - Inner Trauma. Bit like Sepultura, but with a more technical approach.

Also by far the most awesome liveband I've ever seen.

I was gonna say Tool's Opiate too.

Dirty metalheads, all of you.

You want raw, listen to the Ramones.

Also, Samael. Very raw and grungy, and a nice mix of jazz-y composing with metal.

I wouldn't really agree with Rust In Peace or Vulgar Display. Those albums have very clean production (and some of the tightest riffing I've ever heard).

Another one I just thought of was Broken by Nine Inch Nails. Not much of an album (six original tracks, I think) but it's a massive departure from Pretty Hate Machine. Plus, you've got the infamous Broken movie, which goes way beyond 'raw'.

I don't think albums are that raw nowadays, they get mixed one way or the other anyway.

I completely hated it but Metallica - St. Anger was supposed to have been recorded entirely without any post-production.
