Not sure if this is old news or not, but I know every musician is about fed up with covers of Pachelbel's Canon in D. This is a rant about the forsaken song. :D

it is the most evil song to play for cello, honestly, there is no reason to practice it more then once cello-wise

I'm not fed up with covers of Canon in D. It's awesome to learn on guitar because it uses a nice range of techniques AND it sounds nice.

oh, i know. but out of 20 students 6 have asked me to teach them canon rock when they really don't have the skills to do it and i'm sorta irritated by it :o

If people really want to rock out classical music, they should definitely go with some Baroque, especially J. S. Bach. There are some crazy harpsichord pieces written.

You'll find that most well-known classical music has had rock versions made, it's nothing new.
