Linkin Park "Minutes to Midnight"

Looks like they are FINALLY making a new album, and it sounds nothing like their old stuff. Their first single has no screaming, no hard rocking, no rap. It's a pretty new and docile sound. I can't decide whether I like it or I think it's completely generic.

You can hear it here: http://www.myspace.com/linkinpark

thats even more generic than the first album, every single band in my town make music like this apart from the horrid piano line that they dont use. This is the musical equivalent of paint by number.

And i'm not a linkin park hater, a couple of their tunes are ok, Cure for the Itch was alright and they have a few snazzy DnB loops on their later stuff. However this is just vapid horrible and yes, completely generic.

heh, I just heard that song on the radio today and was wondering who it was.

I like it. Not every song has to be groundbreaking, Spe.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Lassev: I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.

Maybe not groundbreaking, but god damn i've heard that song a trillion times before by a gazillion different bands. Its identical to so much other drek out there I don't know how people can tell it all apart.

It's tolerable but definitely not one of their better tracks. I'm by no means a big Linkin Park fan, but much of their music sounds good and is great to sing along to.

The lyrics still suck.

I could live with the generic hybrid metal sound if they wrote lyrics that weren't designed to appeal to 13 year olds that cut themselves for attention.

I heard that song 10 times when I was trying to find my friend's myspace page. Except, this is the first time I've heard THIS song.

And the drums sound like ****. Recorded in a garbage can?
