Music You're Ashamed You Listen To
2007-07-17, 10:10 PM #1
Personally, I pride myself in having an excellent music collection. It's not because I only listen to obscure/indy **** for the sheer ego factor, it's just that I like that music and it happens to be, by most standards, good.

But there are some..."gems" in my collection I'm not too excited to say I listen to. It's stupid, but I still feel embarrassed about some of it. Some such examples include:

Thursday
Avenged Sevenfold
Utada Hikaru (J-Pop artist, but with an amazing voice and great instrumentals)

I simply am embarrassed to let anyone see I have **** like that on my playlist.

What about you all?

Even If I find something listenable even though it was J-Pop or eurotrash (quite rare, though) I wouldn't be ashamed of it.

But yeah, sometimes eurotrash is just so kitschy to be listened. Like Silicon Dream or 2 Unlimited.

Alvin & the Chipmunks

Well, that ain't exactly true. Alvin & the Chipmunks is just code for Clay Aiken and other artists whose balls haven't dropped yet. Now I might not put on the old cans to listen to them, but I'm still ashamed of being a man every time I hear them.

Ronnie James Dio on the other hand, there's a real man!

Probably Goo Goo Dolls... I went to their concert, and me and my friends were the only ones under 30.

I'd never heard of them until 2 weeks ago, but ended up seeing them at T in the Park when there was nobody else on.

They were pretty fracking awesome.
nope.
