It's an Ibanez SR1000 Prestige. Probably the closest thing I'll get to a "boutique-type" of bass. It's flippin' gorgeous (but the camera makes it look too yellowish) and I love everything about it. The body is mahogany with a walnut top, and the lighter-colored woods in the middle you see are maple and bubinga (bubinga sounds like an STD to me...). Also, the neck is thinner than my other basses, which is good since I don't have exceptionally big hands. And the fret markers are offset which is kinda cool in a different sort of way. Oh yeah, rosewood fretboard and all the hardware has a blackish finish they call "cosmo black".
The pickups are custom Bartolini pickups, and the bridge is a monorail bridge. It has an onboard EQ, which lets me boost/cut highs, mids, and lows, as well as change the frequency of the mids.
I didn't notice it right away, but the body of the bass is contoured as well.
Oh yeah, it sounds FLIPPIN' SWEET!
Here's the best part, I got this $1200 bass for only $725, which included the hardcase, straplocks, 2 sets of strings, and shipping.
Score.
