Okay, I'm a complete baffoon to this stuff so don't light me on fire and beat me with poles...

I like music, I like all kinds of music. I really like stuff like NIN makes, the sounds, those are amazing. I also love video game music, even though most of the best tracks of all time were MIDI, I like listening to peoples reinterpretations of them. [url]www.ocremix.org[/url] or something like that has some great songs from some really good titles. However I know most of those type things are done using expensive instruments and recording devices.

My point is, I'm too broke to go buy an expensive keyboard or hardcore software to do this kinda thing. I have been looking at Fruity Loops but am still not sure. Would this be a good place to start? If not, where then?
