Does anybody use the Pod?

I've been playing my guitar directly into my computer for recordings lately, and I think I should get some kind of amp modelling thing to help facilitate this. I was just wondering if anybody has experience with the Line 6 Pod or other similar things.

if you want to get into recording i suggest's KORG's new Pandora. PX5D i think. it's sweet.

for floor based effects. the boss GT-10 can also do some nice direct recordings. but i think for you the PX5D will do the trick.

and personally, i always thought line6 sounded kinda sterile and bland.

That seems good, but it also looks like it does a whole bunch of other stuff that I don't want (rhythm/drum tracks, the loop feature, the footswitch for using it on a gig). I'm already recording to Logic, I just need something to eq my guitar + give me some amp modelling.

I use both the Line 6 GuitarPort and TonePort and love them. To each his own - but it works great for writing music and getting some good sounds.

Of course, I would never use it for our professional recordings. However, you can actually get it real close to a professional sounding mix using them.

I highly recommend it - especially if you live in an apartment or small living space

PodXT or the Vox Tonelab. I have them both, and they're both pretty nice. I like the Pod better for heavy stuff, but for cleans and overdrivers, the Tonelab is unbeatable.
