Some time ago, I made a request for NeS music. With my VERY limited skills and "resources" (read: Mario Paint), I've tried to take a stab at doing a theme of sorts for NeShattered, or perhaps more accurately, for the idea of a "Shatter Your Story" album. I'm mostly doing this in the hopes of inspiring much more talented people to eventually take a stab at it.
Here are the basic qualities I felt should be in a NeShattered theme:
1) The traditional use of instruments in epic musics should be inverted. Traditional instruments for melody, such as trumpets and guitars, would serve more for the rhythm while percussion instruments would serve more for the melody. I think this would embody both the 'upside-down' quality of NeShattered as well as capture an infernal quality.
2) The rhythm should be reminiscent of a heartbeat, somewhat circular and somewhat spiraling (da-dum da-dum da-dum da-dum da-dum da-dum da-dum da-dum...etc.).
3) The 'main' theme itself (the one I'm taking a stab at here) would likely be played by a traditional orchestra, as per requirement of any epic fantasy-type story. However, I could easily see other music for a "Shatter Your Story" including Western-movie inspired themes, 70's folk/classic rock (played by Maybechild and the Green Peas), and a battle-of-the-bands power-metal vs. power-acoustic (for lack of better words, for the Evil Geb vs. Good Geb duel).
With that said, I tried to simulate normal and bass guitars for the rhythm (lacking drawn out brass instrument overlays that I think could work to add to the rhythm) though I compromised with 'gameboys' for the melody (which I honestly just made up -- I have no idea what would make a good melody in this case). Please feel free to comment on the junk I got here, and if there's anything else I could do to inspire the use of your talent.

EDIT: In retrospect, I should have just left it with the rhythm, which you can hear by itself in the beginning and middle. Oh well. Please take the melody with a grain (or pound) of salt and focus on the rhythm more please.
