good idea?

I'm waiting a week to get it. If anyone knows of any good guitars for $400 and under let me know. I'll be playing mainly heavy music that needs a good crunch and deep sound to it, but I also need this for very melodic slow stuff as well. This was recommended to me by a friend, what do you think?

Well the standard advice is go to your local shops and test some out, see what you like the sound of and what is comfortable for you etc, but from what I've heard the ADX120 is meant to be a fairly solid guitar. Other things around that price range you might want to look at are the Dean EVO Noir or the Schecter Omen 6.

I went to guitar center looking for a deep sounding guitar. And Ibanez guitars are great for the cash, but the sound just wasn't as deep as I wanted. The Les Pauls sounded great, but they are a BIT too pricey and heavy for me. I hear that the ADX120 has more of a Les Paul sound but minus the price and weight. I also like the fact that it looks like an Iceman (makes sense, being a barritone), but if you guys know of any similar guitars, please let me know.

Err, last time I checked the Iceman isn't a baritone.

Err, sorry, the Iceman 2 made for Daron of SOAD was a baritone, I was under the false assumption that they all were.
