Ultimately it doesn't matter a **** what EITHER of us think. He'll make it how he wants to make it.
But my opinion remains: Making it less angular could totally change the character of the design which I think would be a mistake. It's a GOOD design and I don't think he should change it that much. Maybe move the rear landing gear around, add some more details (like guns. Where are the guns?) but otherwise leave the silhouette as it is.
And maybe in the end he might decide it doesn't fit his original purposes and decides to use it as something else. Remember that the Corellian Corvette began life as the
Millennium Falcon...
Looking at the pics, you may also want to do something with the forward landing gear well. See if there's a way you could make it flush with the underside of the nose rather than a box sticking out from the hull (although a BIG kudos for recognizing you needed to provide ROOM for landing gear! It's amazing how such small, simple things escape a lot of fanboy ship designers). One way of doing it would be to make the strut look more like the X-wing's forward landing skid, that way it could be drawn up into a shallower landing gear well.
