This shows me you at least know how to edit shapes. The following are some guiding questions for you.

1) CTRL+M smooths the surfaces and makes them look purdy, it also gets rid of those annoying ugly black surfaces.

2) Model actual models before you go with your own model, that way you can learn tricks of the trade, as in the guard of the gun being strangely fastened on, you could have resized the circle up there, etc.

3) Take a look at the right side of the screen when you make native shapes, you can edit its properties before you make it.

4) keep trying.

I really don't even see any way it could possibly be held. No readily identifiable grip, and it's REALLY large, possibly too large for a hand to even fit around comfortably.

And honestly, if not for the thread title just by looking at it I could hardly tell it's even supposed to be a gun.
