Like Thrawn said, you're going to need to make that terrain a shader to use phong shading. It will make it look smooth and terrainalicious..

That aside, it looks awesome! That is great! Keep that caliber of work up through the whole map and it'll be a classic!

thanks for the replies... I was gonna make the terrain with a patch mesh, but I exceeded the patch limit... so i used a gensurf...


Tell me more about this 'phong shading'. Btw, The rings are probably gonna stay... when viewed in motion and in contrast with the rest of the ship (which you can't see), they look much better.

I'm not at home, or I'd post more shots. Updates next week, and maybe a beta test handout.

I agree with Thrawn. These folks wouldn't notice the non-phong unhappiness if you used phong shading. Add -shadeangle 135 to your light compile line.
