Yeah, this is a shot from a level I started about a month ago. [http://angelfire.com/ky/Soundtrek/imper1.jpg]

I did forget one thing about it. It's going to be a SP level.

Here's some more:

In case you think you're seeing a lot of textures you've never seen before, that's probably because you are seeing a lot of ones you haven't seen before. I did a lot of custom texturing because...quite frankly, I don't give a hoot (or flyin' handshake [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]) for some of the textures with the game. The cherry finish on the desk looks a little crappy from a distance, but up close it's not to bad. Do guys think it needs to be improved? I didn't really intend for the consoles to look like the ones on the Enterprise-A...they just came out that way. Oh, and I took the idea for the desk from the Art of AOTC book. I didn't want to use a patch for it at first (a teaching of Chri--I mean Takimoto), but then decided to go ahead and use it, since I wouldn't have to do any vertex-mangling.

Less imperial insignias in the second room wouldn't be such a bad thing really, a single one would make it seem more imposing.

Nice start. I like the architecture in the first pic (are some of those console textures made by you?), but I don't understand the roofing in the 2nd and 3rd pics.

Ironically, it's mirror_floor2. For some weird and non-perverted reason, I think it looks good up there. Right now, I'm working on a 2001 room. I'm biased, but it looks neat.

2001? As in, 2001: A Space Odessey? As in, Hal 9000? As in "My God... It's full of stars..."?

If it is, Elite. If not... Oh....

Erm, what 2001 room would have Imperial symbols on the walls...?

Judge for yourself. I'm having lighting problems like crazy with this room, so it's supposed to have near-white walls and the monitors aren't supposed to be washed-out looking like that.

What I plan to do with the room is have HAL greet you as you walk in the door, then lock it, saying, "I'm sorry. I can't let you do that." So you have to blow up an explosive or something of that nature to get out of there. I suppose he might fill the room up with water to make sure you do get out. Unfortunately, I need to do a little bit more homework before that goes in the level.

As for the broad scope of what I plan to do here, I'd like to make a series of SP levels related to this one I'm working on. I don't mean related in name only. I'm talking about related...by a storyline. You start off the series with the "pilot", then every month or something, a new episode-level comes out to move the plot along. I'm not sure if the series could start out with a beginning and an end or if it would carry on like a soap opera--with no end in sight until the creative powers behind the series call it quits.

I don't look for it to happen, personally, unless I get help or other people see it through, it will. I don't stay committed to my really cool ideas because burn-out and boredom sink in before I've really put anything out. If that point comes, then somebody else is welcome to take the idea of a SP-series and go with it. Who knows? Maybe this will start several of them?
