looks fine as a rectangle, but its to far away in the screeny to make much of a determination of which one would look beter(wait is it double 't' or single. i feel stupid).

It should be rectangular, but mebbe spice it up with a arch hollowed out near the top or somethin'?

Keep it is at is. Concidering the arch closest to the player isn't completely rounded(X and Z axis speaking) either. So it sticks with the theme.

I also would suggest doing some scaling on the lava, and you really need something done to those pads in the lava. If you can make them something other than just rounded squares, you could really make a design theme that pops.

Uhh, that pillar would technically be completely melted from about mid way down, just so you know... Unless of course that's *cool* lava.

But anyway, that looks supercool. I love the fog effect over the lava.

yeah i am gonna scale the texture a bit... i just keep forgetting to and it's that weird lava from a video game that you can be inches from but you get hurt the second you touch it [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] and the pads aren't just rounded squares plus i plan to do some more like work on the other side of the pit where the walkways continue...

your pads are flat as a pancake... you need to give them depth. that is what i mean. and yes, they are rounded squares. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

one more thing. ambient fog is a resource hog. shame on you!

it's a moot point though, 'cause most systems can run q3 smoothly with the settings maxed... i just feel the need to be a weener at the moment.

Not really. Especially if you use foghulls, it's even faster than without it then.

I suggest you make the pad at least 12 sided.

Also, for more depth on the pancakes, put another pancake layer over the top, but make it smaller, so it looks like the routed edges of furniture.

I think the bounce pad could be in a bit more precarious position, to make it harder to reach (maybe smaller and closer to the lava), and make the pickup heavy shields or some other good pickup.

I agree, the bouncepad should be smaller. And maybe you should have to jump on small little platforms to get to the bouncepad.

the bouncepad is currently harder to reach than you might think... especially while playing the map it's fairly easy to overshoot and land in the lava... the item i was thinking about was probably something like the quad damage or megahealth

anyone know if quake 3 has a command to remove the HUD? it will help me with my screenshots cause i like to remove as much as i can from the view to allow more of the level to be seen also will be helpful when i get the final screenshot to use as my levelshot for the Q3 menu

first of all cg_drawHUD does not work but i did find the Q3 commandsa to remove the HUD (cg_draw2D and cg_drawicons)

second.... i am starting to add some of the crap that doesn't affect the gameplay of the map
