Talking to Blujay on ICQ and after he unbanned my IP adress, i had a sudden surge of JK nostalgia overcome me.
I had remembered my... ambitious project that i wanted to do before i left the JK editing community: Islands of Destiny.
The 2nd level of the 3 was Miranda Island, a level so big, it didn't even compare to Drazen. I had though that my HD crash a year ago lost the level.. but i was wrong.I found the .gob with both Danger cove (1st level) and miranda island on it. I extracted the level, and i just had to complete it.
Thus, i redownloaded Jed and start working on it. It's going to be a while before i remember how it works again (heheh), but i think i can release something good.

Miranda Island is big.. very big. Take a good 30 seconds with force speed to go over all the places... and that's just the streets!

Anyway, if you remember it, here are some shots of the level at it's current state. Most of the exterior layout is done and all that it needs is to finish the interior of the houses and shops and fix the countless amounts of bugs and HOM in some places...
Although you'd think HOM is a big problem, i did a good job of containing it despite it's huge open spaces and it's a minor problem.

The project was of it all is too big and i've got other projects in other games on the table, so i'm just going to finish the level to DM or Saber DM.

*edit* I know it's dark, but it's a night themed level and i didn't finish put all of the street light in yet!

Yep I remember this one. Lots of people accused you of copying Drazen. But I think that this won't be an issue anymore, since this is the best JK level we've seen for like 2 years. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Looking good! Glad to see you back.

Freelancer: Yeah people did accuse me of copying drazen without even playing the level! hehe
It's NOTHING like it, layout and all.
I won't lie that some things are inspired by it though... i still consider Drazen Isle to be the best multiplayer level ever in my heart.

Needs some serious lighting work. It is splotchy and erratic. I would also suggest rounding some of the square corners here and there to spruce things up.

Yeah i know it needs a LOT of lighting work.
Almost none of the house/shops have lights in them.

I think i remember that when i made the map, i put every single face to a lower light setting BEFORE i even started lighting, to give it an ambient feel of low light.

I probably shouldn't of done this, but it helped a lot in the long run. Hell it was loads better then doing it with full bright at the start [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

The "bad part of town" (seen in the second screenshot" will be the darkest part of the map. I put in a clandestine bar in a dark alley way which will be a nice place for an ambush [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

PANTHER! Great to see you around... it's been ages. You probably don't even remember me, but heh. Anyway, the level is looking good. I remember playing in your expanded Baron's Hed, and this level's texturing scheme kinda reminds me of that.

Yeah Miranda Island still uses Baron06. It's just the texture scheme i love the most and is easiest to work with.

I love to see others editing JK.
Stops me from panicking that Im one of the only ones.

Its nice and dark, lets see lots a good dynamic lights, nice archi.
Release it, coz its ben ages since we had a good JK level if memory serves.

A few of the pics (1st, 3rd mainly) could do for some lighting--otherwise, it's impressive stuff.
