A mugger has a nerd cornered in a back alley. The nerd activates his NSDS® (Nerd Self Defense System®) and says, "Tomb Raider has excellent control". This bit of totally bogus and false information makes the mugger scream, and his head explodes. However, the flying fragments hit the nerd, and he dies too. Thus the "Don't overdo it" message in the last panel.

I don't get it, even after the explanation. Either it's some type of Tomb Raider thing, some type of nerd thing, or some time of other thing, but I just don't get it!

look at it like like: it took ten minutes to make. sadly, this was not enough time to come up with a decent joke. it was not head chunks, but in fact the head-explosion concussion that sent the nerd through the wall.
