Well, I had this strange desire this morning to make something else that JK could not handle... dont ask why...

Looks pretty good!

But alas, if I went all the way to the end and looked down the tube...

Is that HOM your showing in the last pic? If so, and you need sugguestions, try making sure the surfaces have been successfully adjoined and are placed back to back, also, try checking CC. Other than that, it's simply beautiful.

Why'd didn't you just use a 3do for the catawalk? If you did that; you would have a very interesting/homless corridor!

Make the textures scrolling. Im sure that's what your planning, but maybe not. Then put a space texture on it, and you got one of those tunnels that makes you feel like your gonna fall over.

I've experimented with hallways that are a bit more complex than this one and most of the time I haven't had any HOM. Are those ring columns 3do's as well? If so, you're nowhere near complex enough to have HOM.

Look closely, if the hand rail is a 3do, that would mean the tube has to be a straight shot sector all the way down. That requires sector cleavingt that EASILY pushes the limit.

Yeah, or you could "flicker" COG it, but I'd rather split it, as that method's really a hack.

If you created a simple cylinder, then used that whatsit plugin, yknow - the one that does wonderful curvy corridors - to add a "corridor" around the outside, you wouldnt have the random cleaves you get by cutting the inner cylinder out of the extruding parts. And then end up with quite a few less adjoins.

Or just go with **** 3do's as the railings and the protruding areas. So much easier.

no, that's teh absolute WRONG way to do it. The way to make that archi with the fewest possible adjoins would be to make several cylinders, with two sizes. This leaves you with just two adjoins per section instead of (insert number of lines that make up the circle's circumference) adjoins per section. Silly. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] That wireframe screen is a little hard to get much out of though... could you
post a top, side, and front view? Might be easier to discern. I liek it though [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] [Is this teh thing I saw in your EC earlier?]

We were working along the lines of a single sector all the way through the middle - to have one single 3do for the platform instead of it chopped up like your method would require.

Admittedly that way would be better, but if you read the entire thread, it has been suggested [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Unfortunately JK can only have a certain number of adjoins on screen at a single time. It doesn't matter how many adjoins you can see through, as long as you have as few as possible.

well then, simply cut a rectangular shape between vertices and on teh bigger ones cleave it flush with the smaller one on the outside, then merge the rectangles
it'll still use far less adjoins. Actually, a triangle would be more efficient, but it depends on teh size and position of teh catwalk
If you don't mind, i'll post a shot fo what I mean, if you want the pics removed, jsut let me know.

Technically, making teh basic catwalk itself uses less adjoins, but if you want to keep it as a 3do...

I need a cog to get it to spin continuously, or a cog to run a .key animation that I made over and over again...
I want it so when that blade hits you, it causes damage/kills you, or knocks you off the platforms..

....

Anyway, yea, like it was said above, rip apart the blades of death cog. To make it spin, you could also probably use some of the cogs from the pipes in the fuel tanker level in JKSP.

Put a sleep statement after the startup. You have to have it sleep for a period of time before executing any code, or else JK won't be ready to run it when it tries to execute, and it won't execute it.

The statement should be:
sleep(1);

The fan will start spinning one second after the level starts.
