it's quake 3 it's part of the first q3 map i showcased and it am not finished with this room... once i finish with the main stuff i'm doing in the room i'll connect it to the rest of the map

it probably looks like quake 3 because it is quake 3 and it uses quake 3 textures... and it's ONE ROOM so duh it's a bit small

Its not bad, but do something with the ceiling, otherwise it looks like a big box...

Well in terms of reality a room should be a big box. It has decent lighting too. All it needs is a different ceiling.

that's on my to do list... probably gonna make those "bands" in the textures that go across into something less flat...

Ok i got some ideas. First... for the edges on the floors, they look like this:

Buuuut... i think it would be cool if they did this:

You kinda get what im saying? make it less dull. i accualy find that it is one of thefew ways to add detail by accualy removing things O_o You could do the same to the ceiling things my making them look like this:

Then maybe have some chains hanging down and connecting to other bars from the ceiling and maybe then connectingin the middle to soem kinda hellish chandalier. They have some chain models and chandalier models here if you wanna take a look: http://fps.brainerd.net/mapmodels.htm

BTW... if anyone questions my loyalty to Quake 3 ever... like anyone will but... I just bought the PS2 version of Quake 3 so if that doesn't prove how much of a Quake fanboy i am then.... *shrugs*

Very, very, very nice. Now all you need to do is make pretty arched doorways on the upper level so the walls don't look so... bland.

very nice, tough you might wanna add some pillars/supports to the walls..they're pretty bland.. other than that; nice room, i'd loove to se the whole level..

The lighting around the lava pit seems a bit spaced out, maybe use one light directly over the crack with a higher intensity?

all the lighting around the lavapit comes from the lava itself

and chains would not look cool it wouldn't flow right with the rest of the level

fix that gap in the ceiling where your beams meet the wall, then we'll talk.

the gap is supposed to be there... makes the beams look like that are resting on something

I see what you mean about those beams Jim....but I recommend making the cieling flat against the wall, and putting the beams between the walls, so it looks more like it's supporting the junction of the wall and cieling, instead of holding up the cieling.
