Hey if you're not going to allow photoshop material, then why don't you EC mods take a look a ROD-WAN DEATTROD'S EC PAGE... hell 97% of the crap that he's uploaded is him in his goddamned cosplay outfits... MAYBE with a photoshopped lightsaber. MAYBE. I mean, he's thrown in one or two shots of JK with him as the PC, and, beyond the weirdness that involves, there's literally nothing else related to games in his EC account. AT ALL.

All I'm asking for is to not take a double-standard for this crap... I mean really, anyone go to the EC and look at Rod-wan's EC page... it's a wasteland. Yet he's allowed to remain because of a few shots with a photoshopped lightsaber... nevermind that he's using the EC basically as his own personal image hosting service, when, last I checked, its intention was to provide those of us who actually do editing work with a place to upload screens of said work and share them with others...

My notes on Rod Wan:

1.) He's MADE all that crazy stuff. Because he's done that, I feel like he should be able host those pictures on here.
2.) I had not read the thread on this picture before deleting the picture. You can blame me that I didn't take it in context, and therefore, since it's an edited work, you should be able to host it. That's not how it works. If we let one photoshopped picture go by without scrutiny, the sharks will feast when we have 90 pictures of George Bushes head on different bodies. "Oh, I edited it, it's valid." That's not what we're here for...
3.) Super, I don't mean to knock your experiment over other, it's not personal, and I don't want to break threads like this, so I apologize for that, but I need to do my job and keep everything hunkey dorey.

Now, as an answer to anything else you'll be asking about Rod Wan. I don't like his stuff. Frankly, there's a lot of stuff that goes on the EC that I don't like. But I try to be logical on what the picture/artwork/thing is trying to be. He's an editor, of clothing, I guess, and it's likely that he does things in his costumes that we don't see...or don't want to see.. but that doesn't mean he should be banned for all enternty.

The difference is scope. If you have a lens flare with some text in photoshop and a starfield behind it and it says the name of your clan on it, and you specifically say that...it's valid in my eyes.

Photoshopped Kelly Hu, who, in my eyes is pretty, and I like the filter you used, Super, isn't really in that same boat.

Anyway, you've got your picture back, we've just talked about Ron Wan, and the thought of there being a double standard, which I think I've explained that there isn't...any other questions about this, please, feel free to ask them, and I will respond, but make it in another thread while Super can have his picture commented on here.

In hindsight I'm not really sure WHY I bothered with the watercolor filter... I guess the painting work I did by hand just looked too boring. I'll avoid it next time, maybe a little texture photosourcing is in order.

As for the whole EC thing, I don't really care and I understand why it was removed. It takes only a few seconds more to put it on woggle than on the EC.

That's no excuse Maxis. It's not related to JK/JO editing, so it shouldn't be allowed.

But it's not like it's the guy's fault. The EC rules page is so **** old, it says you can use it for non-editing material, and that the max file size is 250 KB, when in fact it's 100 KB.

Accually... what i have been told by admins is that its anything that is photoshopped can be put in the EC. However... a lot of rod wan's **** is just pictures of him with a stick, no photoshop... nothing added. I also see a lot more people getting away with posting things much less edited than this on the EC.

Just out of curiousity... why do you people feel the need to post it in the EC (by "you people" I mean the ones posting things not really related to JK/JO/MotS etc.)? Why not grab a free 50 meg account from Lycos.co.uk?

I'll probably get flamed for that comment now. But if all you need is image hosting, it's just fine for that.
