I got bored and made a skin. The model is the Dooku one, the hair and the cape are from the skin that came with it (recolored the cape) the rest is 100% my work. I know I need to fix the chain.

Yeah, the head is off (skin and all) because the model is so *good*. It's the same problem with reskinning the Padme model...they both are so detailed that ANY skin you put on will still bear a resemblence to the original. Still, it's the only caped male player model that isn't in a hood or something. I'd love a new model (as well as a helmeted version) but I have zero modeling skill.

Since it's based on a cartoon/comic book, I thought the dark gothic theme would be out of place, shmart guy.

So I guess your designing a level around the old comic book style as well?

No I'm not. Let me anticipate your next witty remarks:

"But then it will be out of place!"

I don't care. Then don't use it.

"But why bother making it?"

Because I was bored.

"Why doesn't anyone like me?"

Because you're monstrously annoying.

No, actually the next thing I was gonna say was:

"Case in point that you can dish it out, but not take it. At least my comment was constructive."

But at least you are getting practice out of it. That's a good thing. Keep working at it.

...see, the thing is, is that it's supposed to be bright and happy, because it's a comic book character, so your suggestion is rather moot.

My point is that, how was I suppose to know this? On the top right picture you can see lines that would seem to indicate a more modern version. So, my natural instinct was that he was going for a more modern look. Which isn't as bright and happy. Though I think the effect could be achieved by mearly making the red a burgandy color, and the purple darker, with possibly some type of thatched line patter (kinda like what they did to the Shredder cap between the cartoons and the movie).

But what do I get? Not one, but two people snapping on me. Not that I really give a **** about what ya'll think about me. But it just proves my point that these boards are full of hypocrites.

Then you could tell him how to fix it. You just said it was bright and happy, you didn't say how to make it better. How should he know what you meant? He could have thought you wanted it to be like the X-Men movie costume, which strays almost entirely from the comic book.

Perhaps, but last time I checked, when someone tells you that it looks too bright and happy, that means to darken and grey it a little.

These arguements get annoying, who's talking about the skin here? That's what this thread is about, it's called a showcase remember [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif] Anyways Darko, It has a funny look, but is it me or is the chain's shader not working (the chain to connect both ends of the cape)...

I think I see what your talkin about too.

If your going for the comic book look I don't remember it being so colorful iono. Looks pretty good except for the face. It doesnt look quite like him. However if you got it from the older X-Men Comics then i wouldn't know how he looked. Overall pretty good.

I have no problem with criticism, but could we READ my posts so we don't keep going over stuff I've already mentioned?

It looks very nice, but parts of him (i.e. his lower arm and wrist, and his belt buckle) look splotchy and almost 8-bit. Nowhere near the shiny quality of the torso.

Cel shading can be done for environments, and I thought someone did it on characters, too, I'll look into that.
