Good start on the model base.
I'd start working on the hardest part, Leave the wood attachment last. Start from the tip of the guns barrel to the most accurate detail. Could do the scope seperately. Detail around the trigger mechanism, to the point where it shows recoil. and the 2nd hole withn the wood frame where your left hand would be if your using your right hand for the trigger. *Note using this gun you would have to have a tripod. Or atleast for best accuracy prone (crawl) posistion.*
Trust me, I'd know modeling next to being something more. A private in the armed forces. Best way on how to do things right model or a replica of a weapon based idea. Use the real thing because there is no other better way to understand what works.
