Here's a tree for you

Maybe going to add some branches and use it in one of my levels... I'm considering sending the final version to Massassi some time soon... that is if anyone wants it

See Friend14, this is a realistic looking tree. Notice how the tree looks full of vegitation, it gives the illusion of having branches!

VERY good. Might give people like me enough courage to try an outdoor level... How are the FPSs with these?

I have always been a fan of your work, Dash. This is an example of why. You exhibit such an admirable attention to detail and excellence.

As the one who actually finished up the model for Friend14, I'll have you know that it was based off of a pine tree...not that it was supposed to be a pine tree as it was designed for the planet Lok, one of the moons of Tattoine (a level I was working on).

So, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't bash someone elses work (especially when you know nothing about the intentions of the author) in someone elses thread.

On the tree, looks pretty good. What technique are you using?

Haha... Friend14 acted as if his tree was going to be in everyone's level. The thread was called something on the lines of 'Most Realistic Tree In JK ever.' He continued to babble on and on about how this branch with cylinders sticking out was oh so godly, then when people gave him constructive critiscism, he said that the tree was perfect, and that's simple ingnorence. Friend14 completely avoided the obvious: The tree didn't look real. He also NEVER stated it was for a foreign planet, and even then, that's one strange planet...

I hope I haven't sent Mr. Enswaters up the pine tree (pun intended) like he and Friend14 usually get...

If I recall correctly, he admited to the incorrect proportions in that thread. All I basically did with the tree was trim many of the lower branches, thinned the trunk, and adjusted the branch length proportions. I even later posted screenshots of it fixed, here in the showcase forum.

Even more recently, Friend14 redid the tree and released it via the Editing Forum.

Hrm, just noticed you posted in that thread...apparrently you never kept up with how it turned out. (BTW, you loose all credit when you say that "He continued to babble on and on about how this branch with cylinders sticking out was oh so godly" when his branches don't even contain any cylinders, they're flat 3do's)

Dash, when you get finished adding branches and such to the tree, mind if I use it in a level I'm making (due credit givin of course)?

Frien14's tree was a pine tree, and aside from it's uniformity that made it look fake and symmetrical, and the bad textures, it was fairly good.

These trees are a different type of tree, are a good start, but lack branches.

I like Freind14's 2nd tree... But I still think he handled the tree in the first thread poorly.

I'm a bit disapointed that this tree of yours dash is like this...

It's more complex than that... You'll see
It's like you said + a ball around it + 3 horizontal circles and it will be animated

As for Friend14s tree... It think it's one of the best game trees I've ever seen! (honestly!)
