I'm working on a SP level, which takes place on the icy world of Alzoc III. I'm working hard to make the objectives and puzzles interesting, and I'm adding new enemies, etc.

I need comments and suggestions on the arch. Does it look like a canyon river? Tell me what you think.

It looks great! It sort of looks like a canyon river, but at least it doesn't look like a big box, which is a big problem in lots of JK canyons.
DO NOT WANT.

Looks like it is coming along, but the outside archi needs some work.

Get better textures. And make it look a bit more detailed, more or less cut out all the flat ground. But otherwise, it ain't half bad.

The lighting looks a little strange in some places, and a few walls could use a bit more moving around.

Nice.

The flat walls aren't too hot, and that texture is horrible...all that black is...bad.

Hmmm, I'm going to change some of the textures, but I don't know where to find good snow canyon ones. I tried Google, but I'm not too good with search engines. You guys know any good light-rock tileable textures?

Looked for hours for days and days but never found any good snow or canyon textures.

That water has to be sooo cold to swim in, I'd make the water deal a little bit of damage every once in a while.

And as has been said before, those snow textures are very old and not that good-looking. Even if you have to make your own textures they probably would be better than what you have, if only for originality.

As for architecture, I think the canyon walls are pretty good, but I'd put more things on the river bottom, at least a texture of pebbles or somehting.

Hope these suggestions help!

The walls are way too flat... Just doesnt look right somnehow, and the textures are.. horrible, get some more rocky snow ones.

And just an idea about the water, how about putting a layer of glass (In various pieces, also that you slide along) on top of the water so you have to smash it before you go swimming [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] But it'd have to be in a quite a few pieces not just one big ice thingy, and they should respawn [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

You could try to put solid chuks of snow and ice in the water (Like mini-Icebergs).

TheJkWhoSaysNi: I've already done that! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] I won't spoil it, but one of the puzzles involve breaking ice to get to the next route.

Deskborne: I already have icebergs in the water. Can't you see em' in the first shot?

I've asked you guys for texture suggestions, but you aren't giving me any. Man, all of you hate them...I can't find any better ones. Give me a good light-rock texture and I'll retexture it. I've already worked on all the walls; they're not flat anymore. Keep the comments coming! Thanks!

I don't really understand what's going on here. You have snow/ice above the water line and snow/ice below the waterline, yet the water isn't frozen.

Either freeze the lake, or use a different texture for the submerged architecture, preferably a non-white one.

That's pretty nice!

For textures, try Mada's place (http://www.thelimelite.net/). I don't know if he has any snow textures, but if you ask him nice enough he might make one up for you...

Also, Zuljin has a texture bank, but for the life of me I can never find it. I found it once, but I'm not sure where it is...

BTW, try using Google's Image Search (images.google.com). You can search for good textures faster that way. Try the keywords:

As near as I can tell the Icebertgs are below the waterline. I meant on the surface.
(Unless it isn't water. Which could also explain it not freezing.)

According to my source, the planet Alzoc III has many hot underwater springs, which comes up to the surface through caves and creates canyons. The water can't freeze because of all the heat underground.

I didn't make any of that up; it's official Star Wars information. The Star Wars universe is incredibly detailed.
