I love how you left everything very low-poly (or rather low-sector [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]) but made up with that with the highly detailed textures.

Making an awesome map AND quoting Fight Club in your signature... Are you God? :P

Has the same atmosphere as those Day of Defeat levels where everything's been bombed out and the town is empty except for the players. And I mean that in a very good way.

Trees are pretty good for Jedi Knight, but I still think they need a bit of work. You might also want to add some more detail to the buildings here and there so they don't just look like skinned boxes. I know you're trying to keep it low poly, but just a few more polygons wouldn't hurt... I don't think. :S

Congrats on SOTD, Zan. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Exceptional! It's rare to find such a well-constructed city level in JK. It reminds me of several MoH Aliied Assault levels I've played. Was that your inspiration? You must have really pust some planning into this. Way to go!

Just curious, are most of the buildings going to be accessible, or is it mainly an outdoor and underground level?

This map looks great, but its SotD was pre-emptive, as the previous SotD holder only got a day and a half at SotD, and we all know that Screen of the Day is more correctly stated Screen of the Week, or sometimes month. Not screen of the 2 days. The buildings need a whole lot more work, especially if you're going to texture them so well.

The spirit moved you, but to make a level :-(

Not trying to be picky, but I assume you want some suggestions, so I thought I'd mention something:

1)Some of the roofs have repetitive texturing, in fact most of them. Even one other texture variation should make a big difference. One more roof texture shouldn't be to hard too find.

2) The Greek Panthenon type building (I'm guessing it might be the town hall?) doesn't have a very good roof texture. It doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the buildings. But I'm sure it's only temporary, so I don't mean to nag about it. A domed building would be nice, but I'll leave that up to you. Great level, keep up the brilliant work!

[EDIT:] I think the tree looks fine. Don't worry about the landscape and foliage at the moment anyway, focus on the buildings, sewers, and streets. Saying that, it would be great if you had some hedgerows and private gardens on top of the buildings.

1. Yes, I'm aware the roofs all have the same texture. In game, there's really no access to the roofs, so the idea was to keep people off of them.

2. Yes, I agree the texture doesn't seem to fit. Makes it stick out like a swore thumb. I'll probably just edit the textures on the building to fit more along the brownish atmosphere of the rest of the buildings.

That would be a cool idea to put little gardens and shurbery on top of buildings. However, from certain angles on certian buildings you get HOM, which is the modivation to keep people off the roof tops. Maybe I'll work something out.

Anyway, on with actually describing the leve to you since this is my first reply. I'm in the process of creating some, WWII era vehicles. Set in Europe obviously. Some of the buildings will be enterable. The underground/underwater tunnel system will maze underneath of the streets allowing you to pop up at certain points surprising your enemy.

Someone asked about planning. Yes, I did plan the level out before I began developement. However, in my paper drawnings didn't quite look like it does now. The center of the level looks how it did on paper, but at that point everything just began to flow and idea's poped up here and there. I guess I was just really modivated and excitied about this level.
