Note: I'm aware that the textures are suppose to run straight across, but trust me. Having them layed out like this greatly reduces the risk of epileptic seizures [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]
And I know everything isn't identical to the original, but I wasn't going for an exact copy. Just nostalgia. I'll be gone for a week this saturday, so no updates for... a week. Yeah.

Karts? Yes. But hover karts. Each kart will pretty much be the same, except the driver will be any of the original Jedi Knight characters. This is not a Mario Kart mod for JK though. It's going to be more of a drifting/racing mod. This originally was going to be a secret track, but now it's just going to be one of the regular tracks.

This track features the original SNES Rainbow Road music. The thwomp also make "THWOMP" noises when they impact.

If this is how it's going to look, then I sugguest you replay mario kart 64. IMO that looks nothing like it, I mean, I can honestly see what your'e trying to do, and that's cool. But to rebuild a classic, it has to look the same, or make it even better. That looks flat, and the MK64 version had a roller-coaster feel to it, many steep climbings, and then a LARGE drop over the finish line. I sugguest taking another look. Also, the pickups were colored diamonds, not the box textures you see in Super Mario from NES. And lastley, the blue block thomp things were not in that track, only the chomps (circular balls usually on chains) went around that track. ALSO, you need the glowing pictures of the whole Mario gang! (Or maybe in this case the JK gang?) But anyways, you know what I mean. Good first attempt, but I hope you change it when the level is complete, to make it more like the original.

[Edit] Also, the colors are horizontally striped, not vertically. And the textures wern't tiles, they were just a blend of a rainbow, not colored squares. And one other thing, it needs the star railing that bordered the track so you would not fall off as easy.

This is based on Super Mario Kart for the SNES. So everything you just said is wrong.

As for the textures... you need to go read my initial post again.

MrRavenX's level looks like a pretty accurate rendition of the original to me, so I don't know what you're tal.... Ohhh, you never played the original Mario Kart.

Sorry, I didn't see anywhere where he said this was from the SNES version, he just said original, and I thought of 64, because I have played SNES vers, but never seen rainbow road in it. My apologies. No need to jump down my throat, you didnt say it was for SNES, you just said the music was from it.

awesome. super mario kart for the snes was classic. mario kart 64 was a crummy remake.

I don't think so. The courses were much better. Toad's turnpike for instance, yet Mario Kart 64 lacked the great vs battles of Super Mario Kart. I prefer Mario Kart 64.

I bought 64 anticipating a remake of the original with better graphics. They changed to much, and the Versus mode (the main reason I played the original so much) despite having a 4 player option was weak. The karts acted too different from the original and didn't seem to play all that different from eachother. Plus the selection of Versus maps was pretty crummy, with only maybe one of them worth using. As for the courses in the regular race, I never enjoyed them so I didn't play them much. I only played versus really.

I didn't care for the tripple red shells or some of the new weapons either, they were kind of cheap.

I played the original extensively for at least a whole year, probably longer. I played 64 for about a month and wished I hadn't bought it in the first place.

If this is a remake of the original you have my full support. Let me know if you require any cogging and I might be able to help you out. However, I'm a bit to busy to join the project officially, assuming you even would need me. Is there a website up for this?

It's boxy, and the textures look too cartoonish. I'm disappointed. j/k, it looks like fun!
