Cazor will either kill me or hug me for this, so I guess I'll bring it out in the open.

Will somebody tell me how to fix the smoothing groups on the doors? Or even remove them completely?

WHOA!! Straight out of EtM.. though that also means something else: It needs more detail. Especially those beds. They look too bland, and especially those textures need work. Oh, and do you really think someone would have one single painting hanging on the wall multpile times?! Looks pretty good further, just the floor looks as if it has too much contrast. Improve those thingies and this is gonna be.. TMU standard [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

The basic archi is nice, the textures are horrible though. Use some of Cazor's textures, and redo the lighting, The painting and those bed things have to go as well

Dude...Cazor's textures? Cazor doesn't make textures. I do. These are the same textures, slightly modified to fit the area.

Well, whatever. The textures Cazor used looked darker/more brown.

The floor textures are WAY too busy. Otherwise it looks good.

The archi looks ok, but the textures are fugly. Perhaps it's the lighting?
And the floor is to busy.

The contrast in the floor textures seems a bit distracting, but other than that its great! Oh, and aren't those tables and not beds?

What do you mean by "smoothing groups" on the doors?

The floor texture doesn't look natural. If you are going for a carpet look, the black should be more varied with a gray layer. If you are going for glossy, I am not sure what to say. That solid black is annoying me. Make it more like the "basic" textures of JO.

Textures are a nice start, but the architecture is really too simple.

I have to agree about the textures. Make new ones. They look worse in this map than they do in Chateau.

We used that texture you made to 'prove emon is right that the old textures lack in detail' as a base. So it is your texture (sort of) in chateau. You will be given credit for it. There seems to be a new texture in this room, so i dont know. :\

Better, but the beds need a lot of work, the windows look like doors.....I don't know...it seems way too cartoony, especially in the doorways between the bedroom things

1. The beds need a lot of work? Would you care to tell me what kind of work? I need to know what to fix. And how would you know the windows look like doors? You haven't seen a single good screenshot of the windows so far. The only one that even shows a window is the overhead view, and that's hardly anything to go by.

The floor in the main rooms looks much better, although I would consider eliminating the center black area of the floor in the thin hall (so it's just the beige area with a black trim).

Doesn't matter, since they would be turned into map triangles and lightmapped. Why are they models in the first place?

the colors are fine, they do not clash, they could possibly be a little more paler as they are quite bright at the moment. Looks nice [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] My only complaint is the orange square benches (benches?). Well whatever they are, they are a tad large and too close to the door, not much room for walking around and i can imagine somebody running through a door and busting their shin on one (ouch). Fix it if you want, had to find something to complain about so i fit in with everybody [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] (sarcasm people, leave me alone)

Because they are easier to use as models? I dunno.

Regardless of the technical aspects, I think this is quite nice. Keep at it Thrawn.

Because in chateau we needed doors to be on an angle and making them brushes either a) at and angle or b) not at an angle and rotating them would both not look good. So we kinda *had* to make the models, and so we use the same doors to keep it looking the same.

the beds look wrong. Add a patch to each side and mess with vertexes a little, to give it a more realistic look.

Rotate tool makes things all ditorted. And most of the angles that i had to put the doors on werent easy things to make them out of brushes. I could have done it if the walls were all at 45 degrees, but they arent. Models were the only realistic way to do it.

Because there are walls that are at angles, and the doors need to be aligned with that angle. Bottom line: They need to be models. So we can just stop argueing [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
