Point & Click

I've started making a point & click adventure game, much like the adventure games by Lucasarts, Sierra and Revolution.

It'll be one absurd and totally nonsense adventure which absolutely has no plotline or logic in it at all. (Kinda like ANS [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif])

I've only started working on it 2 days ago, so there's not much yet.

here's some early screenshots:

This is where our adventure starts. Why? I don't know. Why are the stars red? The main character doesn't know either. What's with the eye? Maybe we'll find out in the game.

Look I'm standing halfway in a doorway.

The reason that the character faces front in every pic, is because I haven't made side and back -views of him yet.
The game will be playable without any software to be installed, will feature a save and load system, run at 320x240 fullscreen and on a 16-bit colourdepth.
It should work on most OSs, it works on WinXP (That says a lot [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif])

No idea when I'll finish this though

Nah, he's just saying that's what he wants [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif].

BTW, ZOOIkes, I suggest you model this from some of the classic LA point and click games more than any other. I myself like the Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis interface, which is also used in Monkey Island 2 and a couple of others.

That looks pretty good, but it needs more detail... especially in the main character sprite... the smiley face doesn't cut it, sorry! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] Don't be afraid to up the resolution if you need to to give more detail, it'll just make more people happy anyways... [Edit: On second thought, the character is ok, just the face needs to be redone imo]

yeah I know the main character looks like crap. I should really turn up the resolution for it. But the annoying side effect will be that animating him will then be a bit harder. You can't just move 3 pixels to make it look like he's walking anymore...

But I was thinking maybe I could create a JK character and make screenshots in PJedi and combine those to an animation, that certainly would look better and more fun [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

As for the interface, it's based on the sierra adventures' interface, which is almost identical to de LEC ones, so don't worry about that.
You will be able to look look, talk and pickup to certain things, and when it can be picked up it'll be placed in your inventory, where you can look at it or select it for use with an other object in the area.

But the Indy & Monkey Island interface is better, it was SCUMM ^.^

I wanted to make it in SCUMM, but I couldn't find any decent editors for it.
